We love the Fall season at WLD. The hot weather is over, our cats are much more interested in eating and napping than prowling around outside, and knitting begins in earnest.
As such, we have a few new pattern offerings for Holiday and cool weather knitting.
The Diamond Neck Lace is a quick and easy scarf or elegant stole; either way a sure hit as a holiday gift.
Leticia is a lacy yet tailored jacket that provides coverage but still shows off your best assets. Speaking of assets, the Renee Vintage Waistcoat is a great way to add a layer of warmth but still show off some curves.
Joan is on the road again soon and the first stop will be at The Knitting Basket in Oakland, California on November 10th. She'll be teaching Vintage knitting and signing copies of Knitting Lingerie Style. (510) 339-6295 for more information and to reserve your space.

Joan's first book, Knitting Lingerie Style, has finally debuted! The reviews have been excellent and already a KAL group is gearing up with yarn and needles ready!
We've also set up a Yahoo Group for those who would like to work on styles from the book. It will feature Joan's own snapshots from the KLS photo shoot, advice on subbing alternate yarns, and tips on alterations for sizing not included in the book, and general help and information as it becomes available.
Joan is also hitting the road on the KLS book tour!
June 21st and 22nd she'll be in Burbank, Calif at Unwind, June 24th at The Knitter's Studio in Los Angeles, and June 28th at FashionKnit in Walnut Creek, Calif. Check each store's website for times and other information.

If you're a shop owner and would like to find out about hosting a booksigning/trunk show/classes for this book, drop us a line. We'd love to add you to our book tour schedule!
We've also added a lovely new lingerie piece to that section of our site. Lucy's Chemise is your girl for sleeping and lounging, or for layering over jeans and a tee.
Nicole is a classic lingerie favorite who is now available in Pima Silk, with a very attractive new price. Think of her for gift giving when the bridal showers begin!
There has been a lot of talk on Knit U about another old favorite, the very popular Shapely Tank, which is also lovely knit up in any gorgeous shade of Pima Tencel.
Last but certainly not least, we present the very vintage-inspired Julianne 2-Piece Dress. She's a curvy but hard working girl worn together or as separates, and bound to become a staple in your wardrobe.

Winter is underway ( in most parts of the US it’s a cold one!) and that means knitting season is in full swing!
Joan designed these lovely Anastasia stockings to knit and embroider for the Fall 2006 issue of Vogue Knitting magazine. We offer the kit with yarn, embroidery floss and full instructions.
The Winter 2006-07 issue of Knit 1 magazine features a wonderful interview with Joan, as well as two new patterns; one for fishnet stockings, the other for a sizzlingly sexy bustier! Read it here.
We are featuring two new romantic jacket designs for this season. Colette is a flattering Victorian-inspired beauty knit up in our cozy Halo 50/50 Merino/Kid Mohair blend. Marcella combines knit and crochet for an interesting tailored vintage look in hand dyed ribbon and 100% wool.
The "Knitting Up with the Joanses" Alaskan cruise took place in August/Sept ’06 and was a resounding success! Forty-six Knitters joined Joan Shrouder and Joan M-M for a wonderful ten days of knit-related activities and classes as well as the amazing scenery and touring offered in Alaska and Victoria B.C. The Victoria Knitting Guild was wonderfully hospitable, and kind enough to provide us with lunch and a bit of touring in their lovely city.
We’ll be booking more cruises in the near future, so stay tuned for more info!

Spring has sprung, and with the warmer weather right around the corner, a knitter's fancy turns to thoughts of cottons and summer projects!
The Krista Tee is a pretty lace topping to dress up any pant or skirt. The fabulous Madeline Jacket is a stunning cover-up with an antique look.
For the daring, our Sophia Babydoll is a fun and flirty new lingerie piece. Amelie has proved to be a popular favorite and combines knit and crochet with retro flair.
White Lies Designs is the home of the very popular (and free!) Shapely Tank pattern. Customize the fit with our easy how-to, and knit it in a range of colors to go with everything in your closet, from our hand-dyed kit in 100% cotton, or any of our shades of Cascade Pima Tencel, a luxurious cotton/Tencel blend for cool comfort and elegant drape.
No need to put away your knitting because of the summer heat. Knit right on through till fall and look great all the while with our cool styles!

It has been proclaimed "The Summer of Lace" and in keeping with that theme, WLD has introduced four new styles:
Helene, Milinda, Amelie and Alene all feature beautiful lace stitches to knit and crochet.
In case you missed it, White Lies Designs Lingerie was featured in a recent issue of Vogue Knitting and Joan was in Sacramento Magazine.
A White Lies Designs Knitalong group has been gaining popularity on Yahoo! groups. Members discuss whatever WLD project they may be working on and help each other with fitting tips, Joan wanders in to lend a hand and answer questions and the group files feature a photo gallery where members may show off their finished creations!
In other news, Joan is working on her first book, slated to be released in Spring of '06. Stay tuned for details on this as they develop.
